RAFL BREAKING NEWS

Long Island Seahawks make it a wrap

Hawks

New York, NY; Today the RAFL added what President Charles McGill stated is “The final team entry for 2008 unless we add a full affiliate league or division with a pre existing schedule”. The Final piece to the puzzle is the Long Island Seahawks. The Hawks, with a long Brooklyn history and rivalry with the Mariners dating back to their days as the Brooklyn Kings joined the RAFL last minute to join their former league mates that had already made the switch this season. Coach Mac of the Seahawks stated” we’re very happy to be here and want to thank the RAFL members for granting us such late entry”
With the addition of the Seahawks, the RAFL will change its division structure from eight divisions to nine. The new division will be called the “Metro West” and will include the Brooklyn Mariners, NJ Wolves, LI Seahawks, and the LI Ravens will relocate from the Metro East division.  For more info on the Seahawks and the RAFL visit www.rafl.net

Brooklyn Mariners and New Jersey Wolves Join the RAFL Party

New York NY; Today, In what Commissioner Adam Turkel called “The final pieces to the puzzle” The RAFL announced the league acceptance of two of the premier football programs in the New York New Jersey area in recent memory. The New Jersey Wolves, who have participated in the GSFL championship three of the past four seasons, and the storied historical Brooklyn Mariners. The Mariners bring fifty two years of history including in recent years two National Championships, and ten consecutive league championships in their former league (GSFL), and after having played the defending National Champion Prince William Monarchs (RAFL) in last year’s knock out drag ‘em down 6-0 Championship game in Homestead Fla.

“These are two great additions” boasted League President Charles McGill. The Wolves and Mariners after teetering back and forth in recent months looked to be headed elsewhere. But “unsolvable issues” opened the door again and the RAFL’s incredible sophomore growth spurt had one last jump before finalization of the season.

“It was something we thought could happen for quite some time, and now that it has , it makes for an incredible playoff situation> Stated Turkel. “ With the additions of the Pittsburgh Colts and the Grassroots Division, The Mariners and Wolves bring us up to thirty nine teams which makes for a helluva ride this year” he finished.

Many Mariner players rejoiced at the change, with their targets set on teams like the New York Predators, NEPA Miners, NJ Warriors, and of course…..to try to get back to a date with the Monarchs.
